Visitors centre De Boswinkel
Entering the Bos through the main entrance at the Amstelveenseweg, you won’t be able to miss De Boswinkel. The wooden structure resembling a molehill, it is a fitting entrance to one of the largest urban forests in Europe.
At De Boswinkel, the official visitor center of the Amsterdamse Bos, you can find everything you need to make the most of your visit. Whether you want to ask questions about the forest, discover the best walking and cycling routes, or get insider tips about activities in the area, the friendly staff is ready to help.
In the shop you can purchase detailed maps, fun souvenirs, nature-inspired gifts, and locally themed products. It’s also a great place to take a break and enjoy a freshly made cup of coffee before continuing your adventure in one of Amsterdam’s most beautiful green spaces.

Boat Excursions
If you would like to see the Forest from the water, you can! From April to November, a lovely boat trip guides your along the waterways in the Amsterdamse Bos. Tickets are available at the Boskalender (Dutch).
It is possible to hire the boat privately for your family, friends, football team or company outing. Contact De Boswinkel for further information. Rates available on demand.

Fishing
The Bosbaan is not only an idyllic spot for rowing and canoeing, it is also a great fishing area for anglers. Membership of the Amsterdam Angling Association (AHV) is required in order to fish in the Amsterdamse Bos. Membership cards are available at 'De Boswinkel'. In summer, amateur fishing is also allowed in the part of the forest south of the A9 motorway.
