House rules Cherry Blossom Park

Bloesempark Amsterdamse Bos

The Blossom Park in the Amsterdamse Bos is at its most beautiful during the Japanese cherry blossom season. The blossoms have been attracting large crowds from both home and abroad for many years. Read our tips for a visit here.

Enjoy the beautiful blossoms in the Amsterdamse Bos. Please be aware that the Bloesempark can get very busy. Where possible, plan your visit for a weekday and come by bike.

Flowering season

The trees in the Bloesempark flower for around 2–3 weeks in March and April. The earliest flowering usually doesn’t start until mid-March. The exact timing depends partly on the weather. We will provide regular updates on the state of the blossoms and flowering on our social media (Facebook and Instagram) and website.

If there is hardly any wind, the trees can remain in bloom for several weeks. In windy or wet conditions, the flowering period ends more quickly.

Photos and videos of the Blossom Park

The floral display makes for some beautiful pictures. Share your best blossom photos on Instagram or Facebook using #amsterdamsebos or @amsterdamsebos.

Please do not touch the branches or the trees. This makes them sick and means we cannot enjoy the Blossom Park together for as long.

Quiet times

Choose quiet times for your visit. During the flowering season, it gets very busy at weekends and is a little quieter during the week. We ask that you limit your visit during busy periods.

Check Google Maps to see if it’s busy in the Cherry Blossom Park.

Food, drink, litter and animals

Horses, open fires and barbecues are prohibited in the Cherry Blossom Park for the safety of visitors. Make sure you’re well prepared and bring a bottle of water if it’s hot. If you’d like to have a picnic, please do so on weekdays rather than at the weekend.

Please clear up your rubbish. If the bins are full, take it home with you.

Dogs are allowed in the Cherry Blossom Park provided they are kept on a lead.

Accessibility

Please come by bike or public transport wherever possible. Follow the signs around the Cherry Blossom Park.

Public transport

There are several ways to get to Bloesempark by public transport (underground, tram, bus). For more information, visit 9292.nl.

Bike and scooter parking

Bicycle parking spaces are being provided. Please park your bicycles there and take care not to damage the greenery and plants. Scooters and motorbikes can be parked on the temporary hard surface along Burgemeester A. Colijnweg, near the extension of Bleekerskade.

Parking

Walking or cycling helps to avoid traffic jams on the way to the park. If you do come by car, you will find car parks about a 15- to 20-minute walk from the Cherry Blossom Park. During the Cherry Blossom Park’s flowering season, you can park in a temporary car park on the paved area of the Land van Bosse event site.

From this car park, the walking route to the Bloesempark is signposted. You can also park at the Dagrecreatie car park or the large car park near the Geitenboederij. At weekends, there is also parking available at P-Raadhuis and P-Doorweg in Amstelveen.

Parking for people with a disability

Four temporary disabled parking spaces have been designated for holders of a disabled parking permit. These are located on Burgemeester Colijnweg, near the former number 200 and close to Bleekerskade.

An overview of all disabled parking spaces can be found at amsterdamsebos.nl/parkeren.

Parking cars or motorbikes on the verge or on/along the road is not permitted. Our Foresters and the police will enforce this rule.

Toilets

There are no toilets in Bloesempark. Signs pointing to the toilets can be found near the car parks in the Bos.

No ash scatterings

It is not allowed to scatter ashes of loved ones in the Cherry Blossom Park.

Visitor registration

We would like to know how many people visit the Blossom Park during the blossom season. We measure this using motion sensors. We do not take any photographs
